Doordat hij nu is toegevoegd aan de selectie kan coach Joop Fiege op regelmatige basis beroep op hem doen. Guido Rink was jarenlang één van de drijvende krachten van de ploeg die twee keer promoveerde naar de eredivisie en de nationale beker won.
