Regerend landskampioen OCI-Lions heeft vanavond de inhaalwedstrijd tegen Red-Rag Tachos gewonnen met 26-31. De vermoeide Limburgers dankten hun overwinning aan twee sterke fases aan het eind van beide speelhelften.
Eerste helft
De ploeg van Monique Tijsterman had geen gemakkelijke avond tegen de Waalwijkers. Het was te merken dat de ploeg al zijn zevende wedstrijd binnen drie weken moest spelen. Het speelde ongeconcentreerd en liet veel kansen onbenut. Tachos daarentegen pakte vanaf begin af aan het initiatief en had na 25 minuten een voorsprong van 13-10. Daarna haperde de Waalwijkse motor een beetje en kon Lions vlak voor rust na vijf sterke minuten nog met een voorsprong gaan rusten: 13-15.
Tweede helft
In het begin van de tweede helft gingen de Lions door waar ze vlak voor de rust gebleven waren en namen meteen een voorsprong van zes: 14-20. Daarna werd het spel van de Lions echter meteen weer minder en lukte het Tachos zelfs om op gelijke hoogte te komen: 21-21. Het bleek echter de laatste stuiptrekking van de Waalwijkers, die net wat kracht tekort kwamen om het de Lions in de slotfase echt moeilijk te maken. De Limburgers namen de regie weer over en bij 24-30 was de wedstrijd gespeeld. De eindstand was 26-31.
