De jonge pechvogel moest in november al de kwalificatiewedstrijden tegen Luxemburg aan zich voorbij laten gaan door een rugblessure en kan dus ook nu niet debuteren in Oranje.

Met Joris Baart en Pim Augustinus zitten er nog twee linkshandige opbouwers in de selectie. Fiege roept geen extra speler op. Oranje speelt begin januari twee oefentoernooien in Qatar en Rusland alvorens het twee kwalificatiewedstrijden speelt tegen Zwitserland.
