Piet Moons (67) wordt de nieuwe voorzitter van de Koninklijke Belgische Handbalbond. De ex-marketingdirecteur van het BOIC en oprichter van Initia volgt Filip Soetaert op. “Ik wil de nationale ploeg op een duurzame manier verder uitbouwen”.
“De nationale ploeg zal nog sterker het speerpunt vormen van het handbal in ons land”, klinkt het in een persbericht. “Met de steun van de spelers, clubs, supporters en instanties willen we de Red Wolves op een duurzame wijze verder uitbouwen.”
“Mijn bijzondere dank gaat naar de spelers en speelsters en het technisch kader van de nationale ploegen voor hun enthousiaste betrokkenheid en inzet om de nationale ploeg terug op de Europese handbalkaart te zetten.”
“Ik wil de Franse handbalbond bedanken voor hun stimulerende en coachende samenwerking. Later dit jaar ontmoeten we Frankrijk, olympisch en wereldkampioen, in de voorronde van het EK.”
“Met eerder genoemde samenwerking in het achterhoofd, en met een Franse bondscoach en technisch directeur van de Red Wolves, wordt deze kwalificatiewedstrijd van het EK 2018 een heel erg speciale wedstrijd”.
