Celine Michielsen (26) spreekt in het dertiende magazine van Handbal Inside over haar verrassende terugkeer naar Nederland. De lijnspeelster gaat aan de slag bij eredivisionist Quintus. Een greep uit het interview.
Een vaste waarde voor de nationale ploeg werd Michielsen ondanks een goede eindsprint in Duitse dienst nooit. “Daar heb ik wel eens moeite mee gehad. Het is toch een droom. Bij Oranje hebben veel goede cirkels gespeeld. Zeker na het stoppen van Yvette Broch hoop je, na een goed seizoen, op een plekje. Soms ligt het aan de trainer of trainster. Of hij of zij wat in je ziet.”
Door haar terugkeer naar de eredivisie zet Michielsen een nieuw hoofdstuk voor de Oranjedames uit haar hoofd. “De bondscoach kijkt veelal naar spelers in het buitenland en daar geef ik hem gelijk in”, is ze realistisch. “Het verschil tussen de Bundesliga en eredivisie ga ik ondervinden. Het zal wennen zijn. Ik ben hard spelen gewend. Misschien vlieg ik er in mijn eerste wedstrijden voor Quintus wel heel vaak uit met een tijdstraf. Ander niveau betekent ook andere scheidsrechters. Ik zal me moeten aanpassen.”
“In de Nederlandse competitie zijn veel jonge speelsters actief. Door de ervaring die ik meebreng hoop ik hen vooruit te helpen. Bij de clubs in Duitsland waar ik heb gespeeld, heb ik vaak jeugdtraining gegeven. Het past me”, besluit Michielsen wijs.
