AALSMEER- De Noord – Hollandse derby van afgelopen weekend is gewonnen door KRAS/Volendam. In sporthal de Bloemhof was de formatie van Mark Schmetz met 22 – 31 te sterk voor FIQAS/Aalsmeer. Hiermee lijkt de trend uit de reguliere BENE-League competitie zich voort te zetten. De Noord – Hollandse derby wordt namelijk telkens gewonnen door de uitspelende ploeg.
Volendam was vrijwel de gehele wedstrijd de betere partij. Aalsmeer speelde zonder visie en daar maakte Volendam dankbaar gebruik van. In de tweede helft was het dan ook een kwestie van uitspelen voor de Volendammers. Een kwartier voor het einde van de wedstrijd stond het al 16 – 23. De grootste marge was 10 doelpunten bij een stand van 18 – 28.
Volendam-speler Diego Jacobs na afloop: “We speelden goed. Alles wat we afgelopen week hebben doorgenomen op trainen lukte. Daarbij zat ook een groot stuk mentaliteit. Ik hoop dat we vooral de vechtlust kunnen vasthouden. Dan kunnen de komende wedstrijden heel interessant worden.”
