De 22-jarige spelbepaler was de afgelopen seizoenen de drijvende kracht in het team van de Haagse eredivisieclub. Hij stond al langer op het verlanglijstje van Quintustrainer René Zwinkels. “Marc is het type speler dat qua instelling en gedrevenheid precies in ons team past. Ik had hem al langer op het oog. Ben blij dat hij er komend seizoen bij is als versterking”, laat Zwinkels weten.

De Vreede, die komend seizoen met Quintus uitkomt in de BENE-League: “Het speelde de laatste tijd steeds door mijn hoofd. BENE-League spelen of weer gewoon eredivisie. Dit is zo’n mooie kans. Die kan ik niet laten lopen. Het gesprek met René Zwinkels is zó positief verlopen, dat ik niet langer twijfelde”.

De scheidende captain van Hercules is genomineerd voor het Handbal Inside Team van het Jaar. De naam van De Vreede is te vinden in de categorie ‘Smaakmaker’. Je kunt een stem uitbrengen tot en met 1 juni.
