Kwintsheul – Alex Curescu is tot het einde van het seizoen benoemd tot trainer/coach van de handbalsters van Virto/Quintus. Hij volgt Peter Lauwen op die vorige week werd ontslagen.
Curescu was de afgelopen drie seizoenen al oefenmeester van de Westlandse vrouwen, maar stapte over naar het Amsterdamse VOC. Daar werd zijn contract onlangs ontbonden.
De keuze was dus snel gemaakt. Peter Holsteijn van de Stichting Topsport Quintus: ,,Zijn bekendheid met de groep en andersom zijn voor beiden een goede basis om de ambities voor dit seizoen gezamenlijk na te jagen.”
In januari speelt Quintus voor de Europa Cup tegen het Zwitserse Winterthur en begint aan het tweede deel van de competitie met tussendoor een uitwedstrijd uitgerekend tegen VOC. De inzet voor Quintus dit seizoen is een plaats in de Best-of-Three.
