Rik Philips wordt de nieuwe hoofdtrainer van de dames van Borhave. De ploeg uit Borne komt na de zomer uit op het hoogste niveau van Nederland.
De pas 31-jarige Philips heeft zich binnen een aantal jaar opgewerkt van jeugdtrainer naar gecertificeerde hoofdtrainer. Als speler kwam Philips in de eredivisie uit voor zowel E&O als rivaal Hurry-Up. Met laatst genoemde club maakte de voormalige opbouwspeler z’n hoogtepunt mee als handballer: het winnen van de handbalbeker in 2011.

Het bestuur van de Overijsselse promovendus laat weten in z’n nopjes te zijn met het aantrekken van de oud-eredivisiespeler. “Met Rik is de vereniging erin geslaagd een trainer vast te leggen die de vereniging van binnen uit kent en toch volkomen fris en gedegen met het team de uitdaging van de eredivisie in kan gaan”.
