Zowel het Nederlands Handbal Verbond (NHV) als de gemeente Dalfsen hebben laten weten verbaasd te zijn over het aangekondigde einde van tophandbal in de gemeente Dalfsen. Voor zowel technisch directeur van het NHV Sjors Röttger als Wethouder Sport Maurits von Martels kwam het besluit van het verenigingsbestuur als een donderslag bij heldere hemel.
“Ze hebben het goed verborgen weten te houden”, liet Sjors Röttger weten aan RTV Oost. “Vorige week heb ik nog contact gehad met vertegenwoordigers van de club en ze hebben niets laten doorschemeren.”
Ook Maurits von Martels reageerde bij RTV Oost op het slechte nieuws. De wethouder ziet Sercodak Dalfsen als uithangbord voor het dorp: “Ook voor alle inwoners van Dalfsen is dit een klap in het gezicht. Het gaat echt een gemis zijn. Als de club straks minder gaat trainen in de Trefkoele gaat dit ook gevolgen hebben voor de exploitatie van de sporthal. Het is nog maar kijken hoe de sporthal dat op gaan vangen. Maar, het laatste woord is hier zeker nog niet over gezegd.”
Zowel het NHV als de gemeente Dalfsen hebben aangeven te willen meedenken over oplossingen om het tophandbal voor Dalfsen te behouden.
