Vooral aan de laatste twee zal Nederland een zware kluif hebben. Toch reizen de dames met veel vertrouwen naar Denemarken. “Iedereen heeft een heel goed gevoel bij dit toernooi. We hebben er onwijs veel zin in”, klinkt het tegenover de NOS.In de poule van zes gaan de eerste vier door naar de knock-outfase. Mocht Oranje de kwartfinale halen, dan plaatst het zich voor het olympisch kwalificatietoernooi van maart 2016.“We zijn fitter en beter. ““Ik heb niet vaak meegemaakt dat iedereen er zo goed op staat, zo vlak voor een toernooi”, vertelt Jessy Kramer. Zij denkt dat de speelsters beter zijn dan tijdens het afgelopen EK, toen de halve finales net een brug te ver bleken.Kramer: “We zijn beter als op het afgelopen EK. Daar hebben we goede wedstrijden gespeeld tegen toplanden en merkten we dat we van iedereen kunnen winnen. Nu zijn we weer een jaar verder. Veel meiden van ons spelen in de Champions League en dan pak je zoveel ervaring mee. “Lois Abbingh is één van die vrouwen met ervaring in de Champions League. Abbingh werd zelfs gekozen tot beste speelster in de eerste ronde. Door een blessure miste ze het EK, maar nu wordt er veel verwacht van haar.”Ik speel gelukkig veel wedstrijden op een hoog niveau. Daardoor weet je daar enigszins mee om te gaan. Als ze veel op mij gaan letten, dan komt er voor de rest meer ruimte”, aldus Abbingh. Oranje speelt op 5 december haar eerste wedstrijd. Dan speelt het op het eiland Sjælland tegen China.
